About the Artist

Ladan Sedighi born in Dallas, Texas is an American Iranian (Persian) artist and designer, noted for her work in areas of minimalism, light and space, hard-edge painting and geometric art.

Ladan discovered her passion for art at a very young age.  After attending Graphic design high school, Azadegan in Tehran, where she learned all the techniques and aspects of design along with eastern and western art history, she got accepted to Tehran Fine Arts University (One of the most prestigious universities in Iran) to continue her education in art and design and to pursue her Bachelor of Graphic Design.  Visiting contemporary art museums and galleries in Tehran and traveling to historic cities in Iran and seeing their architects fostered her artistic development.

Ladan moved back to the United States after her graduation in 2001.  In 2017 she attended Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California to pursue her masters degree in Fine Arts.  During her time at grad school, she became more interested in Light and Space, and Minimalism movements.  Her work continued to grow and transform dramatically by having the influence of both Western and Eastern Art and Culture.  She attended many shows and received many fellowship awards.  She currently lives and works in Newport Beach, California.
